Just picked up my car 2 weeks ago... now crying about the lack of autopilot 2.0 that may not even work. If I get an offer I can stomach, I'll sell this beauty.

Smart air suspension - allows for battery upgrade only with ludicrous
NEW black Premium interior with VENTILATED seats

    Premium sound package
    Cold weather package
    Auto-pilot 1.0
    Carbon fiber upgrade
    Black alcantara interior
    Panorama sunroof

    $135,000 / obo

    Beautiful car!

I say keep it. Otherwise, you're going to take a big hit right away. Have you checked with Tesla to see what they would give you on trade-in?

You are better off waiting 6 months to a year and then buying a used MS with AP2. Both of your cars will have depreciated but the difference will have decreased. Furthermore you will have full use of AP1 during that time but AP2 won't have AP1 features until Dec at the earliest and probably won't be that much better until early 2018. It might even be worth sitting this upgrade out and just see how it plays out.

Thanks @SD_Engnr Yea the car turned out well, I'm still waiting to hear from Tesla about trade in value.. @bak_phy it didn't occur to me to buy a used one next year. That's a good point...

It is my understanding that the new autopilot will actually reduce the usability for the first million miles. I don't know how long that is going to take, but I'd say you have at least a year. My friend got a Model X about the same time you got your S, He thinks he showed me empty spaces for the new cameras. Maybe cars within a few months old will be able to upgrade at the upgrade after cost?

That was also a thought that I had - use the car to get "your depreciation's worth", while keeping an eye on the used AP2 market.
