Interesting article about quality in the auto industry and some of the challenges Tesla may face as they scale up!

Tesla’s real problem isn’t that its cars are expensive. It’s that they’re unreliable.

Vox article says:
"Industry analyst Edward Niedermeyer [...] argues"

What Niedermeyer says of himself:
"Niedermeyer now splits his time between The Daily Kanban and an as-yet unannounced startup in the media/PR space."

Vox article says:
"On Thursday, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration revealed it was investigating a possible safety problem with the suspension of Tesla's flagship Model S sedans."

NTHSA said:
examining a potential suspension issue on the Tesla Model S, and is seeking additional information from vehicle owners and the company.”

this is a one of problem that is being exploited by the anti tesla types and while NHTSA has injected itself into the matter they are interested not because of any safety issues, they are interested in tesla's use of non disclosure agreements that the agency feels would intimidate people from reporting genuine safety concerns.
