This is one major reason Ford CEO Farley wants to split the company into 2 major divisions. One for ICE vehicles that goes through traditional dealerships. And the Model e division, which sells electric vehicles direct to customers at a fixed price (I wonder where they got that idea?). In the Model e division, the dealers would still be involved in delivery and service in some TBD way.

I have a problem with this - and it's not that a huge markup is being put on those vehicles, but that we are fortunate enough to live in a market driven economy, and that being so also requires us to use the power that gives us. My problem therefore is that people actually pay this amount because that's why Ford does it ... because they can ... because we let them

It's our responsibility as residents of a market driven economy to drive that market, but instead we so often take the easy way out and let it drive us
