Remove 6-Seater Rear Center Console

I wonder if it will damage the carpet if you try prying it out from the bottom.

Anyone have any luck with this? Looking at a 6 with the center console from inventory and it would be awesome if this is possible. I don’t think we really need it and the dog would certinally appreciate the extra room to spread out

Any update? Today is my last day to change the order. I was thinking to get the console, figure I can always remove it and maybe leave the holes covered with a floor mat, but thats a risky proposition

Sorry Mattack4000, I haven`t recieved my car yet and can`t say anything for sure. But I personally don`t belive it will be any problem to remove.

I don't believe the center console was designed to be removable. It may be possible, but it won't be easy and Tesla will not assist you in any way.

I would be surprised if it weren't possible. Surely it comes out somehow. The only real concern is how much, if anything, remains protruding from the floor once it is removed (meaning protrusions that would not be easily removed)...

My guess is that it's going to be very similar to how the old middle mono-post seat was mounted.

That was my thought at well. In fact, I was hoping that Tesla would have allowed the console to be "adjustable" and slide forward/reverse (via 17" screen and/or via buttons on the center console) as desired. It doesn't sound like they did that.

Well, it has to be installed so it can be removed. Chances are that it mounts to the floor similarly to the front console and there is a plate that mounts similarly to the old middle monopost seat. My speculation is that you remove either the front or rear trim panel (it should just be clipped in place) and then you would have access to the (four?) mounting bolts on the floor. At the very least there will be holes in the carpet for the mounting bolts and most likely there will be two metal brackets that stick up about an inch (two and a half cm for you metric folks) that the console mounts on.
