Renault Megane E-Tech Electric

Renault has focused on making the new Megane as light as possible, with lots of aluminium used in its construction. While the battery ensures the car is no featherweight, the 1,624kg kerb weight of our test car is nearly 200kg less than an equivalent ID.3, which improves efficiency.

ID.3 is kind of a porker for its specs, there are better comparisons.

1624 kg == 3580 lbs. Spec-wise it looks very similar to a Chevy Bolt, including that curb weight (2022 Bolt is 3589 lbs), single motor FWD, and overall performance. It does look nicer than a Bolt though, and hopefully less battery issues.

I'll be excited when there's a RWD or AWD EV at that weight which is competitive with Model 3 AWD in range + performance. (I wouldn't care if it 100% matches Model 3 acceleration, just get in the same ballpark.)
