Looks like there isn't a thread for Reno owners. Considering Sparks is gaining the Gigafactory I think a thread for the area would be nice. How many owners are out there? I'll be heading there at some point on a road trip. Send me a PM if you want to get a group together for dinner. Not an owner yet myself. Seen 5 different Model S runabout at Southwest part of city frequently...incidentally matched the number of registrant of the upcoming drive electric week event.
Can anyone recommend an electrician in the Reno area to install a NEMA 14-50 outlet? Thanks. Also, if you are in Reno or elsewhere in Nevada I started this local group for TMC Nevada Tesla Motors Club - Tesla Motors Club - Enthusiasts & Owners Forum
Saw a Model S in the wild here so there are a few in town. Anyone on TMC here? Heard there is one orange a Roadster here. update: Just saw the orange one today. Guess they are not on TMC.
@DSM. I am curious about your old post. Which electrician did you eventually go with and how was the experience?
I had DC Electrical swap out a plug only and I think it was $140. Seemed high but didn't get any other quotes since needed it done. Worth looking around I think.
My 85D just got out of production today! I was going to drive my trade-in to the Rocklin, CA Service Center to take delivery and leave the trade-in there. But three days ago I found out that Calif. charges sales tax on the entire value of the new car without regard for the value of a trade-in. Nevada, on the other hand, charges tax on the NET value after subtracting the trade-in value. For me, avoiding California sales tax, i.e., paying only Nevada sales tax, will save more than $2,500. So I asked my Delivery Specialist for home delivery and it looks like it will work out OK.
