Replacing the Piano Trim/Decor?

So I just ordered a used 85D (!!!), pending delivery and all that jazz. One thing that bugged me about this one was that the interior was black everything. I wanted some contrast and replace the Piano trim to some sort of wood trims. Anyone have experience with this as far as cost/time it takes at Tesla or other third party options (and how easy it is or not to do it myself)?

I just got my replaced from obeche gloss to obeche matte. I purchase the OEM set on eBay for 300$.
Is not hard to replace at least for me that like to take apart stuff.

There was someone that sold a vinyl sticker trim that you can just stick on.... I was debating the Carbon fiber one :-D But I'm too lazy for even that option!

I feel like I would be more nervous about vinyl stickers than actual replacement. Knowing me, it’ll come out all misaligned and crappy looking!

I hated the plasticky "Piano Black" too, and put up a flare (in the right forum) asking for anyone who'd like to trade.

Turns out a guy with "Lacewood" wanted to trade, exactly the finish I wanted. Did a straight-across swap. (I sent first)

This is all I have handy. Lacewood was only available on 2012-2013's I believe.

It's actually a fairly rough surface, and doesn't seem to have a coating although it must have urethane flat or the like. I treat it with walnut oil.

I think Lacewood beats all hell out of glossy smooth fake-looking woods.

Bonus: dash with my hacking components.

It seems like i have oem black Lacewood (had to check that out, because english is not my language) on my late 2014 85 S and LOVE it!
Every time i see pics of other S interior the trim looks kind of cheap compared.

I been a Dream Theater fan since Images and words. Have a drum set play a little but I’m not that good

The "before" (bottom photo) is Obeche Gloss and the "after" (top photo) is Obeche Matte Interesting that the grain runs up and down vs. left and right.

That Obeche Matte looks awesome.. I didn't know that was an option! Don't see it on ebay, must be rare

The obeche Matte is the one I purchased on eBay. The option was removed a couple of years ago

I think they change it a couple of times. I do like both versions.
