I just ordered and from what I've read you don't need the kit. I did buy the TPMS sensors at the same time.
I also bought the r187 with Michelin Xice and tpms. got them balanced. At PMC. I was looking for the R241, but the price point made the difference. 2200$ in total.
Reviving this ancient thread. Just pulled the trigger on the R187’s for my 21 SR+ and having X-Ice Snows mounted this winter.
Have we come to an consensus on how to remove the centre cap before I give it a try? From behind, pull out the centre ring, then pry the tabs to loosen? Anyone have a suggestion what cap to replace it with? So many choices! Which ones fit best? Lug nuts…I’m looking at having a winter set as well. Are these worthy of a good quality winter lug nut set? Will they fit?

Continuing on this thread……forgot to ask the tire shop to remove the centre caps off the R187s. I was going to leave it, but had an urge to give it a go. I used a very small flat head and managed to get in between the rim and centre cap and poof….they easily came off. Put my after market Tesla centre caps on easily. Rims look awesome and the centre caps match the rim colour. Got lucky there.
