It's a place for people to anonymously say your posts are "snarky" or "nitpicky" with no channel for subsequent communication or positive follow-up.
Or someplace to say nice comments if you like what they posted. You access it by clicking the little star at the bottom left corner of the message. In fact, VFX, I just gave you a thumbs up.
Thanks for the education. So a star = a thumbs up Anyone can say what they want to you and you don't know who it is nor can you defend the comment nor thank someone for something nice. is there a prize for the most, or hitting a certain amount of "points"? Is there a penalty for excessive snarkyness? It's like an ebay rating only I'm not selling Pez dispensers.
Interestingly enough, I just asked that very question of a mod a couple days ago. I was told no prizes, which I feel is a complete ripoff.
I haven't yet come to a final decision on how we're going to use reputation. Consider right now a trial period.
The "star" icon accesses a menu for either a thumbs up or down. Is it a gold star, or a sheriff's badge?
Sorry brianman, that thread on the 1200 NA sigs was just too much... I'll be sure to give you a postive rating on the next helpful post I see from you.
Well there are different ways to set it up. Can be anonymous or not. Can disallow negative ratings, etc. I'll come back to it after I finish some other things. Judge not lest ye be judged.
Yes...the one with the most "thumbs ups" will receive an extra cupholder in their Model S (or X)...complementary of TMC!
And, if you click on the "Settings" link in the top right corner, you'd see something like this too in your profile: Someone made my day with the comment about being thoughtful always
So I can't give my own post a thumb (either way) but I can report it? How strange. "I find my post offensive!"
