I play a nice person on twitter.
So I have seen a bit of 'reputation trading', but hopefully most people here value their integrity over a few green bars.

I'm telling you we've got a Da Vinci Code thing going on here. A secret society with rituals and everything.:smile:So I have seen a bit of 'reputation trading', but hopefully most people here value their integrity over a few green bars.

The lady doth protest too much, methinks.

I would like to say that IMO the reputation system shouldn't allow people giving both positive and negative rep points to be anonymous. Just my opinion.
I would never protest. The lady doth protest too much, methinks.
Yes, me too. Especially back in the days where us mortals could give negative feedback. People doing that anonymously always irked me. But even with positive feedback I'd prefer to know who gave it.FWIW I always sign my name.

FWIW I always sign my name.
Several members were abusing negative reputation, giving it just because they didn't like the other's opinion. Now only moderators can give it - and just like with positive reputation, if we give negative, we will sign it.
So if someone posts an opinion critical of TMC and as a result gets a red reputation point but only mods can do red reputation points, then one can safely conclude that it was a mod who issued that reputation point. Noted. :-/

We did have an instance where a small group of people (not moderators) still were able to give negative reputation and handed it out indiscriminately - the person who was the worst offender is no longer a member of this forum.
At least you weren't the "worst offender"I was one of them and was trying to organize a coordinated reputation attack to topple the people with the highest reputation but the mods took away my privileges first...
Given the fact that the mods could take away all of your reputation points if they wanted you must have been a good boy, sinceI actually didn't hand out negative reputation "indiscriminately" other than to AnOutsider just to test if I could. Then I was gathering allies to dethrone those 6+ bar folks and suddenly I couldn't give negative reps points.
