That's a lie. I was on the side of the road when my 12V died in a manual Subaru WRX. No fuel pump, no power steering. Everything just died while I was driving.Don’t give me that *sugar*. And I’ve never been stranded due to a failed battery, in a manual.

To the original problem: It happened to me, and getting the car to sleep fixed it. I removed the USB drives and waited until the car stopped humming.
All other reboots, resets, and switching offs failed to fix it.
