Retrofit for Steam

I may be contrarian, but I am surprised this thread has continued for 13 pages. To me, there is little utility in huffing and puffing about whether features arguably promised were delivered or not (tilting screen, Steam, 2-zone audio etc.). If people don't like Tesla or the car or feel they were misrepresented, get rid of it all and be done with the Tesla experience. My MSLR is my first Tesla, and my experience has not been perfect. However, life is far too short for me to lose a minute of sleep over things like this. My $0.02.
Life's too short to pay 100k for a car that doesn't do what you paid 100k for it to do. Report to BBB, to your local Attorney General for Consumer affairs, and the FTC. Make noise. This is false advertising and I'm not going to just take it laying down.

I agree, don't roll over.

Okay, fair point and perspective. Please share what BBB did, what your local Attorney General for Consumer affairs did and what the FTC did when you filed a complaint about this (I'm assuming that you have done this since you feel strongly about it).

How would we have known that we were taking delivery of an 8GB RAM model that was incapable of supporting the Steam/Cyberpunk level of gaming? I'm all good if we were informed of this at the time of purchase/delivery, but this was clearly NOT the case. And this feature was advertised on the site (I get it.. just a rendering), Tweeted by Elon, and (more important) stated clearly at the Plaid Launch Event on June 10th, 2021.

Tweeted by @elonmusk:

Jan. 27th 6:33 PM: Plaid Model S ships next month

Jan. 27th 6:34 PM: It can play Cyberpunk

Elon Musk on June 10, 2021 Speaking at the Plaid Launch Event

23:33: this is

23:34: actual playstation 5 level performance

23:37 :so

23:40: we're going to try to do a gaming demo

23:54: so this is somebody playing the car

23:56: right now <<< ** Not... “This is NOT actual game play in the car, this is just a demo of what it WILL look like when you purchase the addl. hardware required for this feature in the future”

23:58: this is so play playing live

24:01: yeah

24:03: so it's you know

24:05: like pretty great you know so

24:07: have fun in the game in the like it's

24:09: gonna be great

24:11: so

24:13: all right

24:15: so high frame rate will do 60 frames a

24:17: second

24:18: with state of the art games

Small Claims case filed. Six month waiting period to get the case heard (apparently covid backlogged all the SC courts). I will update on the outcome.

I doubt this will amount to anything, but I’m taking some of the points of this thread and sent it off to [email protected], which they request with a 60 day period to attempt to resolve it before arbitration / legal disputes.

Next step, legal dispute.

Hopefully that is not a blackhole mailbox and a human with some sort of authority puts their eyes on that.

Yeah. I typed “disputes” because the salty anger in my fingers moved faster than my memory. I ACTUALLY sent it to [email protected], which is what they require from the arbitrations clause in my (our) purchase agreement… followed by 60 days for them make an attempt to resolve (which I take as, come up with an excuse).

Update to my case with Tesla's response. By their logic I guess Im not entitled to things like air conditioning? Filed with Small Claims Court. Anyone have an Order agreement that lists the computer? Curious if they started explicitly adding that to the agreements.

Also, if anyone is interested here are Wayback Machine screenshots from before pre-orders opened and after where it states (and shows) the model X having advanced gaming features that allow playing Witcher. I filed my small claim with Squabble and included in the judgment the legal fees associated with using Squabble. File away and stick it to them my fellow Model X 8 Giggers!

Thanks for sharing. No one will get any computer information details in their order agreement.like how much RAM I will have, how big the internal storage, technical details of CPU and GPU.
Based on the response from Tesla, it seems like the sales is a fraud, I bet 99% of the buyers don’t know they are getting 8GB RAM where they can’t play demonstrated games
