I think some of that may have come from Nissan promo videos like this:...There were some great opening shots of robots building car parts and battery packs...

Last minute got the "invite" and abandoned my friends to join the 1%.We're the 99%.... we don't get an invite
Not exactly sure what that means, but if it means I'm going to write a wildly successful book and make a boat load of ca$h, count me in! :tongue:Ian went all Sarah Palin on us but we survived.
One bit of info in particular I loved and didn't know was the ~5Kwh to produce a gallon of gasoline, which would power the Model S for 20 miles...which is about what 1 gallon would provide for a lot of luxury cars (at least for city mileage). I really didn't care much about the green aspect of the Model S and people I talk to about the Model S I talk mostly about just how cool the car is in general and that it's cheaper to run. I'm very much a proponent of getting off fossil fuels, but I'm not a warrior for the cause so to speak. Having read the numbers in that article, it definitely adds some motivation for me to help educate folks that ask about the Model S on the real cost of gasoline and the advantages of going electric.Very informative Q&A in the SF Chronicle today. Some Elon quotes of interest:

"non-conflict energy" ... that's a new one to me, but I like it!"Energy independence" and "non-conflict energy" are the buzzwords of the day.
