Recharged at Carlisle, PA, just outside of Harrisburg. Spent the night just over the PA border. Charged again in West VA. Took I-81 to I-77, which is a beautiful drive though the mountains. Charged again in Mt Airy, NC. and again in Columbia, SC.
I've driven this route four times this summer. Love it! Such a nice drive compared to I-95. It's a few more miles, but soooo much better! And I love stopping at all the SHEETZ supercharger stations along the way.
Note to anyone taking this route: Avoid the Wytheville, VA supercharger. There are only six stalls, and they're often ICEd by utility trucks, the nearby food options suck**, and it's way off the highway if you're continuing south or southeast. You can easily go to/from Lexington, VA (or Mt. Hope WV) to Mt. Airy, VA on a single charge. I have Wytheville, VA on permanent "do not use" on AbetterRoutePlanner.com.
** Peking Chinese Restaurant --- never ate there, but it's a sit-down, so unless you're charging for a long time, you might get hit with idle fees or have to go back and move your car before your meal is done.
** Shoney's Restaurant -- not very good, ate there two or three times by default.
** Waffle House -- is Waffle House, but a much longer walk down and up the big hill.
