This is the first time I've had to park the M3 on a slope in SF. The front of the car was pointing down and I needed to back into a space. It was a tight spot, so there was a bit of moving the car back and forth.
When putting the car in reverse, and taking my foot off the brake, the car would want to roll forward - and not hold like it usually does on a hill. When you have less than a foot between you and the car in front, it's a bit nerve racking when it rolls forward. Out of muscle memory habit, I tried keeping the left foot on the brake and started to press the accelerator when about to reverse, but when you try this the M3 just complains that it can't deal with both pedals pressed, which makes sense.
I'm on 5.15 and I keep creep off. All of my other cars have been a manual trans, and parking like this has never been an issue.
Is there some trick to this that I'm missing that would make this easier?
