Revised tail lights on MY

This site may earn commission on affiliate links.
It looks like the new tail lights are now listed in the parts catalog:

LAMP ASY, BODYSIDE GLOBAL, LH 1502086-00-B
LAMP ASY, BODYSIDE GLOBAL, RH 1502087-00-B

(And they are listed as over-the-counter so anyone should be able to buy them, not that that means they will work properly. Also, the hatch side lights are different as well, and I don't know if you would need to change both.)

vs. the US ones:

LAMP ASY, REAR BODYSIDE SAE, LH 1077397-00-G
LAMP ASY, REAR BODYSIDE SAE, RH 1077398-00-F

Here’s a photo of the new one. It is nearly plug and play if you have four wires. My build does. However, the orange turn signal comes on with the brakes. Not a showstopper for me.

I have not yet seen a post of a successful tail light retrofit. The amps are all different as to amount of juice needed to properly illuminate each section. In my elementary understanding, the only way to correctly retrofit the taillights would be to draw the indicator signal from the fender repeaters and brake light signal from the center mount light to feed power to the updated lights.
