Richmond Virginia not able to get solar panels? [from tesla]

I decided to order a 12kw system but seems like Tesla solar isn’t available in my area according to the site. Tells me we aren’t in your area but then the website did tell me that i have an order number and $100 deposit.

can anyone shed light on this? Can I expect an install in near future?

When I placed an order, the site told me that they didn't service my area but would contact me as soon as they did.

Later, I got an email confirming my order and verifying "We will reach out to you as solar becomes available in your area".

There was no mention of any $100 deposit.

It tells me I have an order but seems like they’re not servicing my area yet. I’m just curious if they’ll start servicing it this year or next year next week? The $100 is a moot point

The only reason I mentioned the $100 deposit is if you were required to pay it and I wasn't, then perhaps your area is closer to getting service than mine.

Someone in the Northeast I think it was who did a deposit a while ago for a solar roof recently got an email saying they currently weren’t going to be servicing that area and refunded him his deposit.

Still waiting. 25K for a 12kw system and a power walk sounded good. But it’s unobtainium :-(
