Rim protection idea against curb rash (Aero wheels only...)

Yes, I was looking at Curb Feelers for a while but these days, when nobody uses them anymore, they've all turned into cheap junk that is totally made for looks only. Also, if you do find a set of any decent quality, the attachment mechanism is almost always incompatible with the M3 body/fender/undercarriage and even if they do work at first, they tend to fall off while on the road.

I had wheelband on my last car. It looks great until you actually curb your rim.
All I can say is, it didn't work.
The plastic lift right off and the rim still got scratch.

My wife curb the Model 3 rim last weekend.
I ended up just sanding and smoothing out the damage and painting it.
All it takes is 30min and looks brand new.
