Road trip planning tools [ABetterRoutePlanner and EV Trip Optimizer]

What route planner do you guys use? I need to plan a road trip from San Diego to Monterey and would like to take the 101 all the way up to check out the scenery.

I use A Better Routeplanner

Not sure if you can make it taking 101 or 1 because there aren't many chargers there. I usually take the 5

Tons of settings you can adjust based on how you drive, which car you're in, weather, etc...

It sounds as if you know your route. Just look on the Tesla Supercharger map and see where the chargers are and make sure they work for you. When driving, let the car handle it. Instead of routing source to destination, you may want to route charger to charger to keep the nav from putting you on the Interstate.

That one doesn't give an option for Model 3 SR or SR+, only gives option for long range so it's useless to those of us with standard range M3. It's weird that it's like that since it's on the Tesla website.

I have been a fan of abetterrouteplanner but after the recent changes to it's UI, I'm searching for an alternative. I find it much more difficult to:

1. "Force" a charge at a specific SC
2. Avoid a specific SC
3. Alter route

Maybe its back to EV Trip Planner.

I know it can be difficult to adjust to a new UI/version, but - after trying on about 6 routes - this did not seem a step in the right direction.

Agreed. I went back to Classic. I just couldn't find a way to manually add a specific SC to my routes.

I've praised ABRP for years but the newest version is unusable on my tablet. Whenever I try to enter text, it shows and then hides the keyboard so it is impossible to enter anything.

You can revert to "classic" mode.

How can we revert back to classic mode? I've poked around but haven't found it yet.

Click on the logo in the upper right corner.
Then click on the red button "About ABRP"
Then, at the bottom of the text about ABRP, you'll see a link to the classic version:
