Has anyone ever encountered a problem where you disconnect the charging cable from you roadster, close the charge port door, and the vehicle won't let you put it in gear to drive away because it thinks the charge port door is still open?

i've checked that the door closes securely and that the tab inside the door is latched and seated.

It sounds like the switch went bad. If you look on the inside with the trunk open you will see a 2 wire connector that goes to the backside of the door. That is for the switch. If everything is connected, then it is probably bad. You can disconnect the connector and short the terminals together to get the car moving.
