Have a few projects planned during my company's 1-week holiday shut-down between X-mas & New Years

12V Secondary Battery Replacement - I'm going with the Gruber kit vs. Lithium

LED High Beams - The Sealight bulbs recommended in this thread
IMG_20191223_100627.jpg
Upgraded PEM / Motor Fan & Rear Sway - Got these from a parts Roadster that was posted here since Tesla won't sell me the parts - Hopefully my fan connectors will hold up!

Sound Reduction 0.14 - Right Front Felt Wheel Well Liner - While I'm digging around the battery & headlight thought I'd throw this in. From the same parts Roadster as the PEM fan, since, again, Tesla won't sell these to me!

Manual Battery Cooldown Mod - Installing the LED toggle switch by the headlight switch as one person did in the thread
IMG_20191223_100613.jpg
JdeMO! - I'm going to try a license plate install for the inlet using some 3D printed parts from @Stefan T If you don't see posts from me in the new year, send help as I probably electrocuted myself during the install!

I removed the plastic wheel well liner prior to both the High Beam upgrade and 12V Battery replacement.

Getting the liner out was a bit of a PITA because of how thick and non-bendable the plastic is.

There's 3 bolts (all are M6 with 10mm heads) and one black screw (marked by the circle & hidden by the tie-rod end)

The front has two bolts and another black plastic screw. The panel at the top is for headlight access and the one on the bottom is for 12V Aux Battery access. The battery panel will be reused with the new felt liner.

The screws are in expanding plastic retainer things (technical term) which should be pried out as well

What worked for me was starting at the back. First un-tucking the corner from behind the rubber mudflap (nothing mechanically securing it) and then working the outer edge under the fender lip.

The plastic is thick and doesn't want to bend so some force is needed and some contortions help to free the inner part over the top of the shock absorber.

Admire the fruits of your labor

Installing the felt liner is the reverse, but comically easy in comparison, because it's infinitely more flexible

Because the material is more flexible, the headlight panel now has 4 bolts to secure it instead of 2
