It should go in all the way and not normally visible. Try flexing and wiggling the manual until it goes all the way in.
Edit: Also note that I keep my insurance and registration in the manual folder, so I have to take it out and replace it every six months to update my papers. It never goes in all the way on the first try. I have to “wiggle and flex” it to get it all the way in to the slot.

I was curious so went out and tried it.
Slid in pretty easy in my 2.0. Maybe it will rattle a bit so they made the fit snugger with the 2.5 seats?
And yes, I do use the cr@ppy cupholder

LOL. I use the cup holder to hold my route 44 Diet Coke from sonic. I haven’t had any issues yet, but I do put a reassuring hand on the drink when I do some “high G” turns. LOL. If you’re not familiar with sonic route 44, just google it.

I keep it between the seats. The pull string on the pouch makes it easy to lower into place.

Clipper Creek sells replacement J1772 cables for this unit if you want to convert it to J1772. I would refund $200 of the purchase price if you want to purchase this unit without the cable.
