Well done, @TEG! That was probably taken at the RV park we used to use for recharging when traveling up to Whistler. Here's another of our Roadsters at an iconic location... (person in the image is an innocent bystander)
Always been curious if @TEG has any pics of my Roadster (1195) that I didn't take and post somewhere. I know the original owner didn't drive it much at all (car had 3,900 miles on it when I bought in 2014). I'd be happy to post my Roadster's born-on date and such but, it's been in the shop for going-on 3 months now...with seemingly no end in sight!!
Have you gotten those rear tires/wheels swapped yet? There're a few of us Roadster owners that are troubled by that image when we see it!
Honestly I haven't noticed the difference (and too hard to see in the garage) but when I replace the rear tires, I'll look more closely
OK...new game TEG - Try #1113 (other than the sale listing here that I bought from). There are a few out there, but not many.
Impressive - now for the real test...can you find the short movie in which it was used? Edited: That is NOT #1113 (not a 2.5). The original owner of #1113 must have had a 1.5 previously.
Here was the place where I saw the plate: Tesla Roadster spotted in Glenview, Illinois on 06/19/2010 Location: Glenview, Illinois Date spotted: 06/19/10 I think at some point I put that license plate into carfax and it said it was VIN#1113... But no record now since that plate may be retired. But it doesn't look like a 1.5... The rear bumper has the wide license plate cutout that didn't happen until late in the 2.x cycle. ...It does look like 'AJC' started out with a 2.0: https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/posts/41929/ Must have switched to a 2.5 later, and moved the plate to it... Old & New (1113) with same plate...
VP18, Brabus Roadster. 12 may 2008 produced in Hethel, UK. It is claimed and written on the manual (se picture) "First Tesla in Europe". Is this the first Tesla in Europe? To me it seem like an american 1.5 Roadster although it is produced in UK. Is this the only white paint Brabus Roadster? There is one with black paint.
Many of the VPs went back and forth across the Atlantic to do show duty at various events. VP18 certainly wasn't the first Tesla to be in Europe. I am not sure why someone would make that claim. Usually VPs were used by Tesla for events, reviews, reporter test drives, etc, and then eventually sold. Maybe VP18 was the first one sold as new in Europe? That is just a guess as to why someone might say that. (oh, and what is with that whiteout under the "First Tesla in Europe"?) Those are unusual wheels on VP18 now.
I've been wondering about those dates too... My 2.0 (and others, apparently) are from New Years Day (1-Janurary 2010) according to the VDS, but the logs show an oldest entry much later in the month - 1/21/2010 at 5:32am (yikes!), assuming the clock and timezone were set correctly. What event is considered a car's "birthday"?
Thanks VP18! Did you know your car started out Red? Smile for the camera: European Sig250#7 is the Brabus black: European Sig250#148 is a Brabus custom blue registered in Germany... I am not aware of any other white Brabus Roadster.
I did the whiteout. Under the whiteout you find the name of person that was the first owner, an EV enthusiast from Iceland. You are right about the wheels, they are neither orignal Tesla nor Brabus. The orignal wheels were sold (monoblock so probably expensive) or damaged I guess. Suggestions on what wheels will fit the white Brabus best are welcome. Keep the weels I have now? Replace with the black Tesla wheels that I use on my US VIN663 Roadster or the Tesla wheels shown in the picture of the white Roadster (they need to be restored).
