Don't know if this is the right place to put it, but just something I stumbled on looking in Google News:

J.F. Chang, president of Fukuta, the motor supplier to sport BEV maker Tesla of the United States, pointed out that the propulsion system of a Tesla BEV model costs about US$15,000, but the alliance in Taiwan aims to build a counterpart for less than US$7,000.

I don't know if it only includes the cost of the motor (but possible since some high end induction motors cost about $10k, although that's low volume hobbyist costs).

I would think this would be the cost of only the motor.

Sill trying to dust the cobwebs here. So is $15,000 the cost of the motor at Tesla's Taiwan facility? And now it will be transitioned to a tier 2 suppler / joint venture?
