    Did anyone receive the following?

According to our records, we believe you own Roadster 5XXXXXXB881000255. We appreciate your support for Tesla and its first product. We realize that we need to improve service for Roadster – we are putting in place a dedicated channel to help you with all your Roadster needs. This means dedicated Service Advisors, Service Technicians, and repair centers. You can reach this service by emailing [email protected]. Please note that this channel only services Roadsters. Please continue to use your Tesla app for all other Tesla cars – Model S, Model X and Model 3.

You can also trade-in your current Roadster and apply the value towards the purchase of a Model S, Model X or Model 3 — even a reservation for a next generation Roadster. Request a trade-in quote to get started.

Is it a hint??? If so they started on the wrong foot as the VIN did not match and would not let me go further.

Haven't received anything. Guessing you may have had to have been a recent 3.0 ESS purchaser with services under warranty? I doubt they'd do an outreach to every currently registered Roadster owner in their system but I'd be pleasantly surprised if they did.

Got this email an hour ago. I sent a test email over to the alias listed to ask about the trade in tool for Teslas, as it doesn't show in the drop-down (and the roadster VIN is not recognized).

It usually takes about ~1 month to get a response via the exec escalation form (sample size of 3), curious to see how long this email alias would take. Will keep you guys posted

Glad to hear it. That sounds like the start of exactly what we have been asking for.

I too replied to the email saying one could not fill out the form for a Roadster. I did start a chat and then a sales specialist emailed asking for some details on the car and some foolish questions like did I have a sunroof???

That’s going to be interesting on how they value a roadster.

    Yep.

Give me the right number and I may buy the new Roadster (in case Tesla is reading this :) ).

I have been thinking about this. What the hell are they going to do with 2400 roadsters, use them to shuttle guests around Mars? They can’t resell them because they couldn’t offer any kind of warranty, and if a glut of roadsters hit the market at auctions you can guarantee 1/2 of them will be bricked, and the declining value would kill any incentive to keep the rest on the road, I see it as a terrible idea, unless they buy them back at the original price, in which case make my new roadster yellow please.
No I don’t believe they will offer anything close to that, if history repeats then 50k would be a generous offer from Tesla

If they bump the $50k to $70k for those with the newer 3.0 battery I just may jump on a Performance Model 3. But if really $50k I hope I am driving the Roadster for many years to come.

Parts? I don't think they will offer more than the other car dealerships would. Certainly no extensive warranty.

Buying bricked roadsters to repair bricked roadsters would be pointless, but imagine if they retro fitted a model 3 drive-train and battery and sold them as retro roadsters. Far fetched I know but they could always expect the Honda civic of electric cars to give up parts as they rust, rot or get destroyed. Fanciful stuff but I doubt they would pull them for parts.

I recently purchased a roadster with the battery upgrade and the previous owner forwarded me the email.

My thought is, this is exactly what Tesla needed to do, especially with the upcoming release of the new roadster.
The email didn’t come from just anyone, it came directly from Jerome Guillen. This shows the highest level of commitment to not only
The new car, but the older ones as well. For those considering purchasing either a new Roadster, or and older one, it’s comforting to know that your investment will not go the way of an IPhone 4, and goes a long ways in making the decision of whether To buy or not. Kudos to whoever came up with this plan, It’s spot on! Now, how do I convince the wife we need two Roadsters :)

Need more details on the email...
How many have received it? Only original purchasers being offered?

I'm not selling my roadster, ever...but I'd LOVE to have a Tesla be able to pull a trailer-ed roadster with decent (>200 mile) range (which would mean either much better towing capability or much longer range than the X).

But I would like to be fully supported in an easier manner than what generally gets reported here (but obviously could be skewed by those having issues (reporting) vs those not having issues (not reporting)....

Well I think this is a joke as they are offering LESS than I just paid for the 3.0 battery.

    Hello David,

I hope you’re having a terrific day! I wanted to update you and let you know that our trade in team came back with an offer of $26,300 for your Tesla Roadster.

Please let me know if you’d like to move forward with this offer. Alternatively if you would like to try and sell the vehicle yourself there is always that option. Otherwise you can trade in with us to ensure you do not have to worry about trying to sell it before your Tesla is ready for pick up.

I told them NO WAY and that such an offer was just an insult.

I wonder if they're trying to get rid of the fleet of Roadsters by buying them all up, and solve their service "problem" that way?

    Fat chance...

I think we should all tell them that they are in fact insulting all roadster owners with their offers. Totally to opposite of what they mentioned in the be beginning of their letter.
I wish I expected more from Tesla but for all the hopefuls and expectancy of them actually having “a dedicated channel to help you with all your Roadster needs. This means dedicated Service Advisors, Service Technicians, and repair centers.” They are actually making offers to devalue the vehicle. Their vehicle, their flagship vehicle, the ONLY company that should value the true worth. It’s only because we respect our cars that we do not see in the news section. Tesla values original vehicles at less than 25% than the true worth. The fact that the valuation passed someone in Tesla corps eyes and still made it to you shows not only how clueless they are but how little they care. If it were a house my realtor would NEVER let me even see that offer, yet some mindless idiot being paid to represent Tesla and reporting to be looking after the interests of the owners let that offer go out.
    This is a sad moment
