This is not the reflection of the ground. With only 3000 miles my car looks like it's been through war...

anyone else having this issue? lots of missing paint. I haven't engaged in any rally sport... or off roading... ever with this car!

I was thinking I'd try to buff it at least smoother then plasti dip this area...

I wanted to clear bra it, but it was 10 degrees outside when I bought the car. Most cars have a 90 degree angle here for good reason. My S was a 90 at the bottom, and had black plastic here... The 3 has zero protection from the road...

Yeah, most cars have features like mini mud flaps hidden under the rockers to minimize that kind of thing.

You could try a very light polish on that with a random orbital followed by application of Dr. Color Chip... then after it's dried you could ceramic or PPF it.

i checked the website, is that dr. color chip thing legit? does it work well?

Dr. Color chip has very solid reviews in the BMW enthusiast community. Before PPF was a thing it was pretty typical for people to use this to touch up rock chips from the front end of their cars after track days.

I can't personally recommend it as I've never needed it for my cars but I have friends who have used it and the results are quite good.
