Roof Rack - Multiple Kayaks

I watched the Rack Outfitters video and it said there's only about 40" of usable crossbar width on the back. We are getting two fishing kayaks that are about 33" wide each. Obviously we can't lay them hull down or up side by side. They would need to be stood on their sides stacked against each other. Given the rack is made by Yakima, I was curious to see if their bigstacker or stacker system was compatible but unfortunately it said not compatible. Could we still load two kayaks using this method with regular tie down ratchet straps and/or rope?

Get wider crossbars for the kayaks... just be sure to remind passengers about the overhang.
I have seen this done with many vehicles that are carrying multiple boats with no problems.

I wonder if you might be able to mount a wider set of aero bars to the Tesla crossbars using the incorporated slot system. You might want to contact Yakima to see what they might recommend.

I see flatsiz911 beat me to it. Given the tesla are custom you'd have to mount a wider bar to the existing bars to make the system wider. There are 59" aero bars from Thule, and their square bars go wider I think, as do Yakima's round bars.

The only thing is that it seems Yakima designed a completely custom solution for the Y. When I plug the Y into their website, it shows nothing compatible. And Thule and Rhino Don't even list the Y yet. Sigh

You should search under Model 3 roof rack and Kayak

The MY rack does not show up as valid for any Yakima configuration even though it is a Yakima rack that uses standard T-slots. You should be able to use any aero-compatible accessory or adapter, but it wouldn't hurt to call them to confirm regardless. It is kind of bizarre they don't acknowledge their own rack on their site.

Two kyacks.
