Roof tinting/UV Coating Strangeness???

Can anyone explain the reason for the color differences in these two Model 3's a few months apart in age parked right next to each other on a rainy day in Bridgewater?

Ahhhh one got holy water... one did not.. reasons for that you'll have to ask the Big Guy upstairs!

Sorry, no clue.. but mine is a pretty reddish-orange when wet (Nov-2018 build)

Great find, thanks! So the question then is why does his show this and not mine? I looked from every possible angle, but nothing. That's more the question, why one vs the other. If both, I would get it was part of the coating, but why don't I have it? Or probably more accurately, why is mine acting differently? Different formulation over time? I think the cars are a good 6 months apart in age.

I've been told by some older Tesla owners that at some point, Tesla changed the production so only the front half (not the back larger roof glass) of the newer Model 3 does this, unconfirmed by Tesla of course.

Tesla changed how they manufacture the glass. I am not sure what the VIN was when they made the change. I am assuming it was done to cut costs while still providing similar UV protection and heat resistance.

My SR+ From Feb or March has orange tint.
