Something similar was mentioned for China. If it's easy to do, I say go for it

Seems like a logical step to take.

That might solve rear headroom issue too if you can move rear seats slightly forward while still increasing rear legroom.

While it goes against Elons ultimate goal they should offer it with a 500 mile battery.

The China market may be the decision tipping point for improving the interior including the seats.

It's funny that China should be the catalyst for improving the quality of anything...

I wouldn't characterize it as an improvement of quality - just quantity.
I'm not a town car company. I wouldn't have bought the stretch version.

When Tesla offers a car that isn't as monstrous, I will consider switching.

My vehicle is used as a livery sedan and I would love to see a stretched version as described in the above article. It would also be nice if they hinged the door to open a full 90 degrees like the Lincoln L series sedan did.

I am dubious that a stretched S is something that Tesla would devote resources to produce at this point or even within the next 12 months. As Elon continually says "demand is not a problem". There is some significant design and tooling work necessary to produce a longer S. And would new crash testing be necessary? (Maybe not for the Chinese market)

I think this is just a rumor or someone wanted to write a story just to attract attention and clicks. Don't believe everything you read on the interweb...

If they go this route, it's likely that it's the new platform for the Model X.
