My vehicle is used as a livery sedan and I would love to see a stretched version as described in the above article. It would also be nice if they hinged the door to open a full 90 degrees like the Lincoln L series sedan did.
I am dubious that a stretched S is something that Tesla would devote resources to produce at this point or even within the next 12 months. As Elon continually says "demand is not a problem". There is some significant design and tooling work necessary to produce a longer S. And would new crash testing be necessary? (Maybe not for the Chinese market)
I think this is just a rumor or someone wanted to write a story just to attract attention and clicks. Don't believe everything you read on the interweb...
I seriously doubt this. It was probably a whisper down the lane effect and the story kept getting changed. There is a guy who bought a wrecked Model S and restored it to working condition and is in the process of converting over to a stretch limo. he calls it the "Stretchla" LOL. his blog documenting his progress is here, photos and everything.
