Rust...anybody seen this?

I'm sick as the rust problem is resurfacing on my 2019 MS that has less than 2000 miles on it. I will be calling first thing in the morning to make an appointment.
I've had the car for three weeks and noticed the rust residue after the second washing. The residue is even more prevalent on the 3rd washing. Hopefully, the fix will last the life of the car.

Fwiw, there is a steel bar that is recessed into the plastic support in the front of the car (radiator support on an ICE vehicle). It’s visible from the frunk side if you remove the frunk tub and the plastic trim that covers the latch mechanism

Thank you, I will check that area out to see if that is the cause of the problem. Also, I have an appointment next Friday with Tesla to to further investigate and hopefully resolve the issue.

I will post the results of that apointment once I have the answers.

The Tesla Service rep was shocked to find my bumper frame needs replacing. This is on my 2019 MS from excessive rust and corrosion. He additionally found a bolt in the frunk area with excessive corrosion.
He ordered the parts and I will update the post as things progress.

Ok so this happened to my car a couple of times but figured it out. After washing the car water gets trapped in the front grill and comes into contact with some of the metal parts behind the front plastic pieces. So after washing I just take a shop vac and vacuum out the hidden water and I have never had an issue since.

Smiles2013: Congrats - you're famous. Ha - kidding of course. Autoevolution picked up your photo and this old thread and made a whole story about it.

Can you elaborate on what we are looking at? Year/Model/Mileage? Would be good to know what to look out for and what Tesla's response/solution was.
