RWD LR Order?

From Electrec article:

Update: Tesla has removed the option to select the Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive after we posted this article.

It’s surprising since Musk hinted that the price would be closer to $45,000 and it’s only $2,000 cheaper than the Model Y Long Range Dual Motor.

P.s. I also would expect it priced 45900 rather then 48000, as 1900 difference from AWD too small to encourage downgrade. Quite probably 48k was a price BEFORE 3k drop on AWD.

I'm guessing final price will be $45,990 or $46,990. $2k cheaper doesn't make sense.

In Elon's own words from the earnings call "Our cars are not affordable enough."

@Studerisms when you updated your RWD order did it try to put you in an AWD vehicle? When I try to edit my RWD design it only shows AWD choices or Long Range and Performance.

I should have been more clear. I updated through a delivery support specialist who reached out to me a couple months ago. I did not update using the website. He was able to submit the requested changes on my behalf and a few minutes later I received an updated order agreement.

hi fellow RWD reservation holders!

Just an FYI that out of the blue today I got a my first call and text from a Tesla delivery specialist at "Tesla Dublin". Nothing more specific than just to introduce himself as my delivery advisor and to see if I have any questions or concerns.

I immediately texted him back mentioning that I'm waiting on the LR RWD version and asking if he had any information on when Tesla would start production of this version. So far no response back.

Wondering if anyone else had a similar contact today? Maybe Tesla is starting to prep for September deliveries of the RWD model?

Will there be another CARB certification for this model? Won’t that be a good harbinger of when deliveries would start? I looked and saw that there was a Model Y test group on July 6. Hopefully a certification is imminent.

I received a text today as well for the RWD / White / 19-inch / FSD order I placed back in March 2019. Hoping it's true and not just some automatic text generated by a server.

"Tesla Update - We currently expect your Model Y to be ready for delivery 3 - 6 weeks from today. We'll continue to provide updates as your estimated timing gets closer.

Please note that this timeframe is an estimate and may shift in either direction."

wow! you're the first one I'm aware of, who received a delivery estimate!

Got a call from a Tesla Delivery specialist that is assign to me to complete all my paper work in regard to my trade in and my financing, so I can get a VIN assign. Once again I have the 3rd row seat on my order so I wonder if they are producing the 3rd row? Also do I have to stick with the trade in and the finance they give me or can I change it at later time? I wanted to complete it just to see what if I will actually get the vehicle quicker.

This is my first communication from Tesla, they haven’t sent anything to me earlier..

Tesla Update - Our apologies, the previous text sent earlier today about your Model Y Long Range Rear Wheel Drive order was sent in error. Please disregard the timing previously provided, we do not have a timing estimate for Model Y Long Range Rear Wheel Drive vehicles at this time.

I just got this text. I didn’t get the first one that was sent in error. Anyone know what’s going on? Just more Tesla incompetence?

Ok I just got a second message on this text

“Hello Marcella, When where you looking to take delivery of your Model Y? -Elliott”

I asked if this is for an RWD but have not heard back yet
