Question about paying. The two options are 1. Pay Cash
2. Tesla financing

If I go through my own credit union....I choose Pay Cash right?

I thought they only were delivering AWD cars? Are you sure you have a RWD? What does fit say when you click "View Build Details"?

Same here. Definitely LR RWD.

I think the prepare for delivery was opened to everyone.
That's strange, because it's not listed on the main webpage for ordering. I wonder what the range is for the LR RWD? I have an LR AWD on order and it says preparing for delivery too, but no check marks with delivery location, etc.

I ordered in the first 24 hours. It doesn’t have a tab for trade in so I know I’m going to have to wait. If I get it in June I will be beyond excited. September it’s fine but I’m not patient

I'm willing to wait it out also. I live in AZ and don't need AWD. No way I'm springing for another few thousand bucks to get it earlier. That being said, if Tesla wants to give me an AWD model for my RWD reservation price I'd jump on it.

As of 9 AM PDT March 16, 2020, the California Air Resources Board has not approved the RWD MY for sale in California. Since they approved the Performance it will be a formality, but one that needs to happen before California deliveries can start.

I think you should reconsider AWD. Unlike gasoline cars, there are a couple of benefits for electric cars. The drives are independent, so if there is a failure, you will still be able to drive the car. Also, it appears as if they have enabled some sort of range mode on these cars and so you should actually get more range from the AWD version. In my Model S AWD, I am getting a lot more range out of the car.

Except that many people that placed a $2,500 deposit have been told by Tesla staff the RWD version will never be built. And their are copies of chat messages from Tesla confirming.
However, that still doesn't mean a RWD version won't be built but don't assume it will either.

This isn't really true. with the permanent magnet motor if it fails the car is pretty much stuck. If your front induction motor fails you should be fine. Also, there is no real range mode in the 3/Y because it already gets most of it's drive from the permanent magnet motor which is the more efficient of the 2. One real added benefit other than acceleration and regen is the fact an AWD can heat the battery up much faster than a RWD which comes in quite handy when it's cold out.
