S100D with 4,400 Miles

Hey all,

As cliche as it sounds I'm asking for some pricing advice for a friend. This isn't my car but they're asking me what their car would be worth for sale. Here is the original spec list when they bought it in late June 2017. It was an inventory refresh fascia. They are only looking to get rid of it because they want the P100D instead.

Since it's a 2017 model there would be no transfer of supercharging. They also opted for FSD so the price was $3,000 more than this. Told them to get a trade in quote from Tesla, but haven't gotten that yet. Looking for ballpark ranges and if you're interested I can also put you in touch with them. Car is located in Los Angeles.

I don't have any pictures myself, as far as I know it's in good shape but I heard there is a bit of curb rash.

I think that price includes the federal $7500 tax rebate.

I bet this car goes for $91,799.99, thats the max I would bid on ebay. especially when I can get a low mileage D90D for $82K

Rash is easy to fix, at least it doesn't have the 21's, which are a stress fracture liability.

Sounds about right for Tesla. Their trade-in prices are horrible and CPO are the most.

Concur 100%.

Tesla lost another sale for 2017 when Tesla offered us (and I'm not kidding) $71k for our 2017 90D with many options, and an original MSRP of $109k, IIRC. (And about 7,500 miles and in showroom condition.) We had it priced as I thought we had a friend as a buyer lined up for it, and wanted to get another '17 (100D) before the tax credit expired.

This while ev-cpo.com/classic was showing a whopping 17 (SEVENTEEN!) Tesla CPO Model S's.

(And today, a week or two later, it's showing a grand total of TWELVE cars? Can this possibly be right?)

So I have to wonder what the heck is going on with Tesla's resale marketing? Smart people normally make smart choices, but their remarketing is a real head scratcher, at best . . . .

From what I understand everything is so modular that they could likely upgrade anything to any trim level. They're more into the business of selling new cars and not retrofitting old ones so they don't.

Got some pictures...will try to get some more after the next time it's washed, the owner is out of town till Xmas and not entirely sure if this is ultimately for sale yet. The family is trying to convince her to stay with the 100D but she has her eyes on the P100D. Anyway thanks again for the replies, will get all the info to them to get a decision, but nothing will happen until at least after Xmas.
