Safety score reset now that I have Tesla insurance

So, on my Model 3 that got the FSD beta with the first roll out, the safety score had disappeared but now reappeared in the app now that I have Tesla Insurance. All the scores before Today are gone now though.

On My Model Y that got the FSD beta with this second roll out, the safety score had not yet disappeared, but now in the app all the scores before Today are now gone too.l

So, do you mean you recently ADDED Tesla insurance and it reset your score? I was about to sign up since it’s about 80$ cheaper a month, but might hold out till getting the FSD roll-out… but, now that I think about it that might be a WHILE with a 98

Yes it resets your score after getting the insurance.
I had a 99 score so I probably would gotten the beta next Friday.
It does however give me another shot at 100 which I think I could pull off.

I already had both cars in the FSD beta program and was told I would not get kicked out of it.
I'm not sure what would happen if you were still trying to get into the FSD beta program.

I’m confused. I thought FSD beta turned off Safety Scores for that car. Do you know if Safety Score is still being calculated for the car that it does show in the app? Or is it just a stuck number and shows just miles adding up?

For most everyone I’ve read (including myself) in Cali w Tesla insurance, safety score disappeared or at least stopped calculating (i.e. - only miles kept going up but score didn’t seem to get affected anymore)

Not sure why, but the last 2 drives in my model Y with Tesla insurance as of today and FSD beta as of today did not log as trips in my safety score.

Edit: I have 99 miles for the day…maybe that’s the max for insurance for a day???

Sadly I ran into this as well last night.
All that work for nothing…
Since in Texas the insurance is a new thing I bet it is likely regulation that the score/judging would have to coincided with coverage to be fair or other unique qualifiers that don't align with the Beta Safety Score.

So probably the only way to keep the current Safety Score would require having 2 Safety Scores, one for Beta and one starting with insurance coverage, which is extremely convoluted and confusing at best.

Neither of my cars are recording trips anymore, not sure why. Took both of them for a drive this morning and no trips shown for the day.

Same happened to me. I had 3 weeks history with 99 safety score and over 200 miles. Now I have one day with 100 score. I was hoping to get FSD this Friday, now I am concerned it will not happen again until later. Bought insurance this morning in Texas.

The reset should only happen to Tesla insurance customers in Texas. Tesla insurance in California doesn't use the safety score.

I did the same. Had a solid 99 and then it disappeared... I now have a 100 on the insurance score. So today I chatted with a Tesla Software specialist through the service section on the Tesla website. I was told that the old score is still alive and well and new insurance scores are added to the FSD Beta score just like all the other non-Tesla insured cars. Your past weeks of driving are not lost - no effect whatsoever as the new insurance scores just get tacked on to the end of your old scores to determine if you qualify for FSD beta access.

The only difference is we do not see the beta score history or total score average anymore - just from the point of the policy going into effect. The other difference is that my insurance rates went down over 50% from what I was paying at Progressive!!! Looking forward to 10.3 on Saturday!

Did you end up getting the beta?

Exact same thing happened to me. I contacted support and they could not offer any help and had zero interest in the big after I suggested to consider it a bug.

Exact same thing happened to me. I contacted Tesla support and they said there's nothing they can do. When I suggested they may want to consider this a software bug effecting many people they also had zero interest in the conversation.
