So, if my Roadster breaks down I have to have it hauled to the nearest Tesla Store, which could be hundreds of miles from where I live. But if the LivRush breaks down, can I push it into the nearest Sam's Club or WalMart SuperCenter?

That's sort of where I was going with that. Not only for advertising/ sales, but there has got to be a better way than flatbedding a Tesla from Florida to California. There has to be a better network. If they thought out of the box and aligned themselves with a retailer with a large enough number of outlets, it may make it possible to have a small service station of sorts if something minor happens.

Combining a) remote diagnostics (if it's necessary) (i.e. let owner download to a USB memory stick, then upload to TM) with b) Service Technician flying to the car (not the other way around) sounds more efficient (than flat-bedding) for most long-distance simple-fix situations (which are hopefully the super-majority of cases).

Unless you have to change out large parts, or need some large piece of specialized test equipment...

It also helps to have a shop full of familiar tools close by.
Not to mention specialists you can call on as needed.

There is a reason why the towing business is much more prevalent than "mobile repair" operations.

Seems like the deal with Sam's Club is just for the sales. I have read they still service the vehicles by flying over technicians or shipping the car back to their service center for more extensive service.
