San Antonio-Dominion Service Center

Greetings! Longtime lurker who finally made an account to join in the community. I am a serious prospective buyer but still waiting for the right time for my family before going forward with a possible Tesla purchase.

One of the big elements of my decision about ownership is the service center. The one closest to me that'll be my likely destination for delivery as well as any future service appointments (hopefully few if any!) would be the San Antonio-Dominion SC. I have looked for reviews on this forum but didn't see much discussion about it other than its chargers and construction. I looked at Google reviews but those weren't overly helpful. Maybe no news is good news, but hoping to get some more insight from this community.

1) If you completed delivery of your Tesla at this SC, how was your experience?
2) If you've used this SC for service or repairs, what has your experience been like? Are appointments fairly available or are they hard to get in a reasonable time?

Thank you in advance for any help - appreciate all the discussion and advice in the community!

Siromnom - Welcome to the forum and hopefully soon to the Tesla family. Though I have owned 5 Teslas over 8 years and currently own 3, I am happy to say that in my limited experience with the SA service center (which is a good thing, meaning not lots of issues), my interactions have been good. I have only picked up 2 of our cars there, the others were delivered to our house. But of the 2, both were done professionally. We have had minor servicing in our driveway and taken major servicing (not often, maybe twice in 5 cars over 8 years) to the Dominion and they have been courteous, prompt, and again professional. Since San Antonio isn't their biggest market, we have avoided the crazy growing pains of California and Austin, Florida, etc.

But, Tesla is growing super fast, so it's not without its growing pains, but I recommend the cars and service.

Hey folks, I am also new and in San Antonio. I have a test drive set for this Friday and was concerned about the Dominion center as well since their Yelp reviews show it to be a terrible place. My sales advisor and I spoke on Monday, he sent me his contact info and I texted him yesterday with no reply. Hopefully thats not a sign.

I hadn't looked at Yelp before today (I generally find Yelp reviews unreliable)...but yikes. I hope these are outdated and things have improved since then.

Google's reviews are more of a mixed bag and seem to be mostly about the cars and people's excitement. Most of the 1 star reviews I saw there were just garbage reviews.

I did a test drive in the winter/spring at the SA/DominionbDominion location pre-COVID and I found the staff in the showroom to be incredibly helpful and nice. They were clearly busy though so...if I needed more assistance I can see how people would be very frustrated.

Hope your test drive goes well...I couldn't stop thinking about the car after that...good luck lol

I used that SC last summer. I was in a bind, needed to leave town but my Autopilot system died. They gave me a loaner while they sent someone to Austin to pick up the part I needed and had the car back to me in a day. They were great, and I was a walk-in, had no appointment.

FWIW, from talks with staff and various message boards, the SA SC seems to have a pretty mature operation. The SC manager is spending most of his time up in Austin trying to sort out things there, since they lost there other manager earlier(?) this year. The sales side folks have all been great.

Thanks for the insight!
Out of curiosity, what other boards for the SATX area have you used or come across? I'm reluctant to use FB but I'm sure there is one there. See a lot of Tesla's in SA but wasn't sure how active the community was. Seems like the Dallas/Houston/Austin areas are more active on here.

I ordered mine a couple of weeks ago after working with folks from this gallery. Since I placed my order my sales advisor (if thats what they are called) has ghosted me. At first he was very responsive to my questions, now they just go into the ether and never get replied to. I get what Tesla is trying to do with their gallery model, but there needs to be some better communication.

I haven't communicated with anyone at the SC since my order. My delivery specialist in NV gave me a call the next business day when I had emailed him in response to his post-order email. He was very helpful. I realize they don't have much information to provide until a VIN is assigned. Figured I wouldn't need to correspond with the SC until I have delivery scheduled...

This is a late post but perhaps best to keep on the thread? FWIW, I haven't had good experiences with the San Antonio SC. They are unfailingly polite in person, but don't follow through well. They apparently threw out my front license plate and plate holder in July when repairing the front end (ugh), told me with a bit of a smirk that they'd pay me for the replacement if I emailed them receipts....the cost of a replacement plate is exactly $6.50. The holder was about $100, though, and for making me go stand in line at DMV for an hour I sent a bill for an hour of my time as well. They (Tiffany) never responded in any way. I've a 2020MY, bought around the time it looks like the OP did.
