I've made this drive from San Diego to Tahoe, several times in my 2019 SR+ on sport rims and never had an issue. Always been a fantastic experience.
I now have a Model Y LR on 20".
I saw a few caltran R1 chain warnings (the lowest level) in the Mammoth area on 395. Will my 'all season' tires be ok?
Otherwise I'm thinking about avoiding the scenic route via 395, booo, and going 5 instead. But only if necessary.
What are everyone's experience with these tires in cold weather? The roads are pretty well kept, but you never know. Thanks!
