Sandy Munro interviews Elon Musk

Elon certainly likes to pick worshipers to interview
him. Not sure that is good for anyone really, echo chambers are bad!

It may appear that way but you clearly haven't seen Munro's dissections of the Model 3 in the past!! If he's not impressed he certainly says so. He subsequently warmed towards Tesla when he realised that they were actually acting on many of the fundamental manufacturing issues that had been highlighted. His recent excitement was over the FSD beta that actually appeared to work much better than he anticipated .. up until then he appeared to have the same low expectations as many of the rest of us.

I have watched most of them, he has been pretty glowing since the Y. His tone has change a lot. I still think he could have asked tougher questions about where issues remain. Especially as he deemed them easy fixes!

Because he spent 45 mins telling him how wonderful he was and glossed over every issue he had found. No tough questions. That is the difference between a PR skit and an interview.

Why do you think Mr. Munro was there, given that he owns and runs a company that supplies information and advice to car companies, as opposed to being some tough-questioning journalist that you seem to want him to be?

You might also want to consider how much you paid to access the discussion, what puts bread on Sandy Munro's table and what benefit would be gained (and by whom) by lifting Musk off the ground by the neck and giving him the full Gestapo interrogation.

Much as I like Muskey, his missions and products, he often comes across quite badly when discussing engineering.

Most top notch engineers are very detail heavy but EM just sort of sprinkles vague phrases in with little background.

His focus on polar moment of inertia in that interview was typical.

Maybe he doesn’t want to blind the interviewer with science or maybe he’s just so deep in so many topics it’s impossible to be an expert in all of them but he does come across as sort of faking it sometimes.

And yeah, Sandy should have actually let the guy speak a bit.
