The Sarasota Exotic Car Fest.

Its a three-day James Bond 007 themed event starting Friday evening February 22nd and ending on Sunday, February 24th. Its rather pricey costing $835 for a couple for the entire event, or you can go to individual events.

The first event on Friday evening February 22nd is a Luxury Lifestyle Jetport Reception at the Rectrix Aerodrome Center at SRQ Airport. ($175/person)

On Saturday, February 23rd from 10:00AM - 4:00PM there is Exotics on St. Armands Circle where you can display your car for a registration fee of $60.
I haven't checked to see if registrations are still open.

On Saturday evening, February 23rd, Sunset Cocktails and Dinner at "Casino Royale" at Michaels on East. ($200/person)

On Sunday, February 24th, Road Rally and Closing Brunch at the Founders Club. ($60/person)

My wife and I are still debating whether to attend the Jet Port Reception on Friday. Maybe if I knew some club members were attending it would induce me to spend the money.

Proceeds support United Cerebal Palsy of Southwest Florida.

Today while I was attempting to sober up we continued our exotic car fest at St. Armands circle. Parking was challenging for ICE vehicles.

Parking at the Met.jpg

We were fortunate to get some charger parking.
Robin, Steve and Larry were dressed a little more casually today.

I found out later that another local club member had to wait for a spot.
Sorry Gary I hope you didn't have to wait too long.

This looks like a similar (identical?) event... car show, fancy stuff, jet port reception.

Would you recommend it? Is it worth the $$ for a nice night out?

St. Petersburg at Festivals of Speed Elegance

Hi Liam,

Yes, it does look similar, but not identical.

This jet port reception is less expensive at $200 per couple versus $350, but for us we would need to book a hotel room. The Marriot Renaissance Vinoy has reduced rates at $279, and I believe there is a charger available in the garage and nearby at the marina.

I'm not used to spending this kind of money on a reception, and my wife thought I was crazy... until we went. Afterwards I asked her if she felt it was worth the expense. Now she has put this on our calender for next year.
