Scheduling Service Watertown and Dedham Online is a Mess

I used to go to Dedham exclusively but that place is getting really crowded. I'm with Watertown now. last 3 visits all at Watertown.

Watertown is closer than Dedham IMO. In morning traffic, take backroad through Lexington, cut cross route 2 then Watertown beats the hell out of going 128 all the way to Dedham.

@yousexy, we will be moving to Burlington in a month or so, do you go to Dedham or Watertown?
FWIW, I'm in Bedford and have gone to Watertown exclusively. While travel to Dedham may be more straightforward, I think the fact that Dedham is a sales/delivery/service center kinda rules it out for at least 1/4 of the year these days.... Always been happy with Watertown in the last year of going there. Communications are hit and miss as others have observed.

its likely tesla doesn't show all the available slots because they need to reserve slots for emergency-types of services that need immediate attention.

Taking my car to watertown for the first time in a couple of weeks. hows the loaner availability there?

Generally quite good, for early morning appointments. I was there yesterday around 10-11:30am for mounting new snow tire/wheel set, so I did emails there while I waited. The Enterprise guy came for one customer during that time, so I guess they were out of loaners by then.

----------

Edit: I just read on Electrek that Elon tweeted about selling all available inventory before the Federal tax credit cuts in half at the end of the year, including test drive and loaner fleets. So loaners may get harder to come by in January/February until they're replenished with trade-ins (Watertown has some older loaners) or new cars.

They must have been anticipating a hellaceous January since there were no slots at all posted!
When I was last there they had no loaners and no rentals. I went home in an Uber.

My frunk latch actuator failed on Sunday. The earliest I can get in at Watertown is February 11th, which is unacceptable, because I have PPF install on January 5th.

So I scheduled service in Glen Allen, VA the day after Christmas (we'll be visiting relatives for the holiday.) I had my pick of appointments that day.

Update:

My car also developed a very nasty wobble at anything over 50mph recently, and being at 8,000 miles, I decided to bring it to the local tire joint for a simple high-speed balance and rotation. They balanced each wheel and tire off of the car, on their balanacer, and put them back on.

Well....same shimmy (which is sometimes a full on bone-rattling and scary shudder), from the same corner of the car (right rear....which eliminates the wheels and tires as being the problem).

Shoutout to the hotline rep that got me an appointment in Watertown tomorrow......but now I'm scared:

It's the end of the quarter in which the full tax credit expires. There are likely no fleet vehicles available. If they don't have the part in stock, I am going to have to drive some shitty Chevy Cruze from Enterprise rental for 1500 miles for the Christmas break.

If that happens, please keep an eye on your local media outlet of choice, as it's highly likely someone will be called in to calm me down.

Please let us know how the wobble is resolved. Had something similar but mine was a busted belt in the tire.
I will. Appointment is at 10:45. I stressed to the rep on the call that it was a safety issue, and it suddenly went from "48-72 hours for a Ranger visit" to "oh, hey, does tomorrow work for you?"

Luckily, Rt. 2 morning traffic means I didn't get up to any speeds that made it dangerous to get into town today (I work about 5 miles away in Lexington).

At this point, I suspect a strut or a half-shaft/axle issue.........I'm hoping it's a quick fix.

I'll let you guys know. If all goes well, I'll spin this story into its own thread, as the Service guys deserve a little love right now. They're slammed.

With the new Android and IOs 3.8.0 app you're supposed to be able to schedule service. First time I tried it displayed my last appointment but would not allow me to schedule an appointment.
Since then my last appointment does not show at all nor can I schedule an appointment. Does this work for anyone else?
There have been reports of this working elsewhere so I'm wondering if the Watertown/Dedham locations are not enabled for this new feature yet?
I have not need to schedule an appointment just wanted to see how it worked.
Happy holidays everyone!

Anyone else notice that the schedule service option is missing in the 3.8.0 phone app (iOS in my case)? It was present the day it was released and installed on my phone. But today, I notice it's no longer there. My car is running 2018.48.12.1.

I'm on 3.8.0 (Android) and 2018.48.12.1. The schedule service option is there for me.

I didn't want to make an appointment only to find out they can't reproduce the problem. waste time on both sides.

I recently had an intermittent problem with my X trunk. As I already had an appointment scheduled for annual service, I made several videos, using my phone, to record the failures. Fortunately, when the service center could not reproduce the failures, I showed my videos, which motivated them to look further and they did identify the problem (which required a parts order for repair).
