I’ve noticed this problem over the last week or two. Wasn’t sure if it was some weird reflection until recently when it was clear that it was a real issue. Going to contact the SC. 2016 MS new inventory car.

According to the SC, VIN's between 161k and 190k are susceptible to this yellow border. Mine is 171 and has it. Seems more like a manufacturing defect than heat damage.

Have appt scheduled next week to have it replaced. Said only touch screen needs be replaced and am the second person coming in for this recently.

Question for those who have had it replaced already, Did they replace your touchscreen only or touchscreen and computer? Thx

Interesting, mine is a 026k VIN, but it was an inventory car I purchased a few months ago, so perhaps it had the screen replaced while in use as a demo.

EDIT: Sorry, forgot this thread was in the MS section... mine's a 026k MX VIN, same discoloration issue.

Ranger that looked at mine was clear that they no longer need to swap the entire MCU as a single unit and it would be a screen-only replacement.

My SC has ordered a new touch screen for me. Hoping it doesn't take several weeks to arrive! In the meantime I have switched my maps view to "satellite" so that the yellow bar across the top isn't as noticeable.

VIN 198xxx, May 2017. My screen has this to a small degree so far.

Pretty positive this is the result of edge LED backlighting being cranked too high (daytime visibility) on a poorly made LCD.
