I used to have Model 3 and someone said they bumped theirs with a corner of their phone and cracked it. $1200 to replace. So on the Model 3 with it sticking out I got the glass screen protector from Abstract Ocean. Nearly impossible to detect. But I did notice on occasion the screen was very hot.

Move to today with a Model X. The screen is less exposed. But I’m sure just as expensive to repair. But I’m curious if heat has anything to do with the yellowing. And if a screen protector could make it worse. By adding a layer of insulation.

Any thoughts on this, the yellowing and running a screen protector or not.

My X was build this September.

We've had 3 Tesla vehicles, starting with our first in Jan 2013 - and have never needed a screen protector.

I consider it cheap insurance. I hope to never need it too. It was a no brained on Model 3 and lots of folks got them. Friend got a Matt one that I wish I had got. Got rid of some glare that Model 3 is more vulnerable to as well.

It has more than paid off on many phones. Just cheap plastic ones.
