Hey crew,
The dreaded textile upper B pillar weakness of wearing/tearing at the entry point finally got to where I want to replace it.
So instead of doing a 1:1 swap of my tan textile, I've actually bought a pair of used black Alcantara replacements. (actually a better match for the doors, and the pillar to headliner mismatch doesn't bother me)
The problem is, how do I get the buckle of the belt through the tan plastic gate/guide that attaches to the B pillar?
I don't want a tan gate on a black pillar. The replacements came with the black gates. I just need to know how to handle the buckle.
I think I can force it through the black ones from the back, but first I have to get it reversed through the tan one.
Looking for a non-brute force alternative, but haven't found one. Would like to be able to sell them once I've swapped them out.
Haven't tried removing the cover on the buckle yet, if it's even possible. That may help.
(pics are net grabs for reference only. Mine are reversed, tan has the belt thru, black doesn't)
