Seat materials; Premium, Vegan or Leather...

Does anyone know the story and rough dates for the Model X when they went from, I assume, originally Leather, then to a "Premium" (that wasn't designated as Leather and is presumable "vegan") and then finally to a "Vegan Leather" option for the Model X? Of course, now they are just saying "Premium" again and I assume that is the same "vegan" material as before still...

So, what's the scoop on the seats!

My 6/17 x100d has real leather. We were told last of the real leather when we bought

03/16, perforated seats and I believe that these are considered the "Vegan" leather.

Mine is 06/17; its black seats and non-perforated but we really don't know if it is vegan or real leather. From what I thought they started quietly just installing vegan leather in all the X early '17; but I really don't know if that is true, just what I thought I heard.

The fact that most vegan leather is made from petroleum is lost on many.

Had real leather on my 2017 and liked the feel, but it showed wear. Now have non leather in my 2019 and it does not have the same quality feel, but seems like it will age better.

I chuckled when I first heard the term too... I remember when we just called it “vinyl” LOL. FWIW, I think Tesla upholstery is soy based.

How can I tell what I have? Mine is 12/2016 with beige perforated leather

Believe the perfed seats were leather. Seating around that time were mostly either premium leather or standard cloth fabric.

The white seats have always been vegan since day one.
