I called up and well it is not what I had hoped. Its off the original MSRP - even if you buy new from the dealer.
So $94,000 MSRP -

Interesting - No EV fee?

EV Fee is only applicable on renew, I believe.

OUCH! So you'll pay that tax every year? That'll still be almost $1,000 next year! After five years you've paid what, like $4500+?! That's insane, glad I live on the other side of the state

They start depreciating the value after a couple years. It won't be that high forever.

It took almost 6 weeks to get my plates (back in Dec), they rented a car for me after my temp registration expired

I'm on my 2nd CPO Model S. First time around the plates didn't come until after the temp tags expired but back then they just issued another temp tag which I loved because you can drive in the toll lanes toll-free! Second time around they said they could no longer do that so I basically could not drive the Tesla until the tabs came in the mail. They offered an Enterprise rental (Tesla loaners are only for service) but I had a 3rd car so just drove that around instead.

The temp tabs expired Dec 18 and I didn't get my permanent tabs until Jan 12. Good times. YMMV.
