(Seattle, WA) Single-rider HOV with electric vehicle?

Hey all,

My job is moving me up to the Seattle area from the Phoenix area. Here in AZ, owing an EV comes with some serious incentives: vehicle license tax (similar to the RTA excise) is only $30-$50 a year instead of depreciation based, and also access to HOV lanes when solo -- similar to CA's Clean Air Decals.

I'm still learning about the Good2Go pass, after riding with my realtor for a week on a home-hunting trip. Can EV owners use the "HOV" selector on a flex pass when riding solo for a free ride?

$350...WTF!!!! Luckily that EV sales tax exception that ended last year takes some of that sting away...at least for those that were able to take advantage of it.

I’m not familiar with this sales tax exemption. Can you provide more details?

Thought there was something for EV’s under 35k that expired?

That's what he's talking about. the Model 3 made it on the list of cars that qualified of this because the MSRP of a base model was 35k, even though all the cars sold were well over that amount....regardless the program ran out of funds last year.

Highway 167 has a toll lane, i405 in Bellevue and more north has a toll lane or hot lane. I use them daily with my flex pass. No other car pool lanes allow single occupancy use with or without flex pass.

Except all the car pool lanes that essentially become the fast lane after 7pm. I can't remember how far South this extends but I know it's on 405 from Bellevue to I-5 in Tukwila.

Check that. It looks like even the tolled areas are open after 7 too...

Yes all lanes open to all traffic 7pm to 5 am.
