Are there any problems or small things about the Model S that annoys you?
Overall, how would you describe your experience(s) with your Tesla?

(Will compile and add to my blog)

It annoys me that it just won't break down. I have been driving this thing every day for 11,000 miles now and it just won't quit. I mean not even an oil change....c'mon what I am I suppose to do with this?

    Rofl. Good one xD
I drive a Nissan (one of the worst cars ever) and I really do expect it to break down anytime soon (and it's a 2013 model) -_-

I am a bit concerned about the direction that this thread may take. The username, CultMusk, sounds like you're ready to bash Tesla's CEO and are looking for support for your efforts from owners. I placed my deposit in October of 2009 and waited (not very patiently) until Dec of 2012 for delivery.

I am extremely happy with the car and feel a sense of privilege every time that I get in it. It is dependable, beautiful, fast, comfortable, efficient, eco-friendly, a marvel of technology, and fun to drive. The biggest problem that I've had was an inoperable rear window - the service center sent a technician to my home on a Sunday to fix it. The service that Tesla owners receive is World Class! It annoys me that people are trying to find fault with the finest car ever made.

Bash the CEO? Why would I do that? And what efforts?
Because I'm asking people to just be honest about their car, it suddenly makes me someone that wants to find faults? I'm just here to really figure out some things that annoy owners or things that make them love it. I want to hear their voices and their opinions—and honest ones, not just ones I read written up by the media (it's usually either really good or really bad). And if there are faults, I'm pretty sure Tesla would act on it to fix them. I've been following Tesla since the roadster, and I have nothing but high hopes for them (I just can't afford one). I just wanted to get people's experiences with their Model S.

Also, didn't know Tesla sends technicians/specialists to owners' homes. That really makes things easier.

You're new to the forum (welcome!) - it might be better to just join in the conversation and get to know everyone, rather than ask everyone to catalog their feedback in one place for use in your blog. As far as 'just asking people to be honest about their car', that's what people ARE doing here on the forum. The entire forum. The entire forum is 'feedback', if you think about it.

We are inundated daily with students wanting to survey the forum for the latest paper they need to write and journalists wanting quotes for articles they're writing. Just join the conversation.

    -------

As far as people being wary regarding your intentions, you initially DID ask people to tell you about "things that annoy you", but you didn't ask people to tell you about good experiences. So that does seem to give the impression that you're looking for negative information. That may not be your intent, but surely you can see why people might believe your intentions may not be to "just get people's experiences with their Model S".

My car has been flawless other than a slight rattle in the front of the roof that was solved with a small strip of electrical tape. Would like to check out the local service center but have never had a reason to go!

I think it's perfectly legitimate and normal for someone to ask owners what about their MS bothers them. While most owners absolutely love their cars and have no complaints, there must be some people for whom having a MS is different from what they expected, or they simply had to get used to some things. Perhaps @Cultmusk shouldn't have stated he was going to use the information for his blog. But as a prospective buyer I would like to know the drawbacks or unforeseen things about owning this car. I read hundreds of posts of glowing comments, but constructive complaints or observations are welcome to help prepare for ownership.

This tells me that you really haven't bothered to learn as much about the car on your own as much as possible. Go through all the info about the car on the company's website - then explore the specific threads on the owners' forum that concern you - and then if you still have questions, ask. Most of us owners did just that. No spoon feeding.

Love my MS - just hit 25,000 miles with the only real issue being wind going through the pano roof initially (now fixed under warranty, of course).

So first, welcome to the forum.

The issue wasn't if it was legitimate to ask. The issue was that IF you ask only for negative information, you shouldn't be surprised if people think you're writing a negative article.

If you haven't read the constructive complaints (or flat out non-constructive, for that matter!), then you still have a lot of exploring to do on the forum. We've had many, many threads on what needs improvement, what people would change, what problems they're having, and so on. It's all out there. If it's buried under the weight of the glowing comments, it might be because the Model S deserves all the awards it has won. But there is still room for improvement. (Lack of properly placed cupholders and interior storage space seem to be the number one issue, btw.)

How about I start a list of all the things that annoy me MORE with my ICE car after a year of driving the Model S? Now that's a long list. Here's a few off the top of my head:
I have to turn the car OFF every time I get out
    It's so LOUD
I coast up to stop signs and almost roll through them every time because of no regen
    It's so SLOW
It takes *FOREVER* for the heater to warm up.
I can't warm the car up in my garage. I seriously have to pull it outside (in the cold) and let the engine run.. it's crazy.. .like I'm driving a Flintstones car or something.

There are more.. after thinking about it.. I'm not sure how Toyota stays in business...

While annoying it is certainly not exclusive to the Model S, nor worthy of calling out a complaint. Every car I have owned with Bluetooth had this problem. We certainly don't need a blogger out there talking about the Model Ss crappy Bluetooth system.

What is annoying is that I cannot save for a free carwash anymore at the gas station (although those car washes were a bit expensive, as I had to get gas at least 6-7 times before I saved enough points for a free car wash).

As for the concerns about your intentions: if you provide a link to your blog those concerns can be allayed.

Absolutely zero wrong with the original question - people are quite sensitive on this and TM forums.

    What annoys me:

    1. Door/Frunk/Trunk seals - when car gets wet or washing it, lots of water remains 'hidden' within the doors/trunk/frunk etc leaving pooling of water at various places, or after a wash, streaking
    2. No coat hooks
    3. No back seat cup holders or storage of any kind
    4. Front cup holders are in terrible location IMO, usage basically means I have no arm rest.
    5. Design of Pano Roof - mine has had to go in 5 times to get repaired for noises/creaks/leaks.

None of this would prevent me from getting the car again, but these things appear to have been either over looked or not deemed important by TM.

The Model is a fabulous car. I've had some issues with noises in the panoramic roof which was fixed by Tesla.

But, my car and quite a few others have one big flaw. And that is the loud balloon squeal at high throttle. Tesla knows what it is but won't fix it.

Bonnie, perfect response, you took the text "right out of my fingers" before I had a chance to type it!

The majority of posts on these forums are "feedback". Read, and learn.
