I’ve got a black M3P with FSD, also tinted glass , PPF to front and full ceramic coating.
I do love the car , but I have hardly driven it since picking it up new in November 2019 (I’ve done 5500 miles!). So it’s absolutely wasted on me.
I’m 80% sure I’m gonna sell it and just get a run about to depreciate less on the drive.

WBAC has offered me £45k for it , does anyone know of a better place to sell to ?

Is the car fully owned? And if so what will you actually do with the £20k of 'spare' cash you free up from selling the car and than buying a cheaper one?

I've purposefully have managed to reduce our car usage from 15k miles a year to just 7k, and hope to maybe lower that more. So I could consider something similar to you, sell the thing for £45-50k and get a 'cheap' EV like a Leaf/MG. But whats the point of giving up somewhere I love owning for someone I know I will not love any where near as much?

Unlike a combustion car the upkeep cost is minimal and with FSD (maybe) coming at somepoint seems like a good reason to keep the car if out of nothing but curiosity.

£20k extra in the bank is nice to have but is it going to change your life/make you smile every time you see it parked on the driveway??

Why not just take the view of we are all lucky enough to own one of these cars when literally billions of other people on this planet would love to trade places with you just for the car!! :).

Waste is a relative term. Picked up mine Dec ‘19 and it just crossed 3.9k miles tonight. I don’t consider it a waste. An M3P is a want, not a need. Not sure what other considerations you have. I’d say if it’s your only car, might as well keep it. 🤷‍♂️

Be careful with WBAC, I've heard horror stories of them offering something then knocking the quote down quite a lot on inspection. I used a company called Motoroway on selling my last car. they are a broker and they true and find the best deal for you. I would recommend them.

As an aside, some of this thread has surprised me. I often get stick from people for owning a Tesla, people thinking it's flash or rich. I see what they mean now. A few responses on here clearly think having a spare 20K is a minor thing!

I’ve been thinking along similar lines myself. Since first lockdown I’ve gone from at least 800 miles a month commuting to practically zero, only going into work when I need to do on site work. I’ve done just under 1300 miles since March 2020.

Problem is - I see myself trading down to a BMW i3 or something and then regretting it. The M3P power, and the whole Tesla experience (well, the good bits) is still as alluring now as it was when I placed the order.

My advice would probably be to wait until summer when you might find your recreational use of it increases, particularly if staycations remain the safe way to holiday, etc. It has the added bonus - in theory at least - of other people starting to look at driving again, which might increase demand.

you could use autotrader you might get more for it on there. have a look at the prices on there. Alternatively look at the specialist dealers who sell on there and contact them some even say in there ads "more wanted" like this one:

alternately I have heard some people say they got a better price than WBAC on Motorway.

Have you tried Motorway? They usually get decent prices. I’ve sold 2 cars with them.

I’ve internal family pressure to get rid and get a camper van. Haha. But yeh, like you covid had changed so many things. I won’t be travelling to an office again.

Get a quote from this guy EV Specialist Hampshire | R Symons

I believe he offers collection of the vehicle no matter where its located in England. Just let us know the price he offers for future reference in case any of us choose to go with him. He has a video on youtube that describes the selling process if you go with him

WBAC prices move around. Depends on what's going on in the auctions. FWIW I sold my SR+ for 36k in Dec (no idea how they made money on that), but nine months before this I'd checked and the price was 32k and I checked again what it would be worth now and its back to 32k! When I pulled the trigger in Dec I had expected 35k, but the price had gone up between me booking in and arriving. It was actually more than 36k but they knocked a bit off for scratched alloys! Their deductions price list looked very much like those of a lease, so if yours is in good condition I would not worry about them haggling you down. The guys there told me they were trying to rebuild their reputation on this count!

Another vote for Motorway from me. I sold my VW Golf R through them last September and actually realised a better price than I had expected after doing my research into used value. Plus the dealer who bought it picked up from my drive and made instant payment. All in all, a brilliant service.

I had a similar experience via Motorway when selling my Mazda CX5 last sept. Couldn't fault them on the price I received or the service they provided.

I've had better quotes from arnold clark than from wbac by a large margin - got the money they quoted too, though with a sample size of 2 cars it's not that meaningful! Never tried anything as high value as these cars though so not sure how good they'd be

Agree!! I've done 600 miles (because of COVID) in my M3P and got it late September 2020. It’s definitely a want and with running costs so low at 3-4p/mile for power, I'm not bothered with low mileage as when I drive it, I love it. 😍

Richard Symons collected my M3P yesterday for sale or return. I can get an EV via work (sadly not a Tesla), so given I’ve done 700 miles since january 2020 I decided to let it go while it’s still worth something, i can always buy another one later on. It’s definitely a head over heart transaction as i do really like the car. On balance though I’d rather have the money appreciating somewhere in savings than depreciating on my driveway, especially when i have an EV coming via work with the minimal BIK for the next couple of years so dont need to spend any of the proceeds on another car, if that were the case I’d have kept it 100%
