Selling to Carvana - our experience

All the Carvana talk I decided to see what they would offer. I noticed they don’t have a FSD box to check and the offer seemed low for a 2020 LRDM 3 in perfect condition with FSD. $43K
A few relevant points about Carvana:

1) They are heavily algo-driven and will substantially overpay (or underpay) at various times throughout the month depending upon their mixture of cars. Their algo is allegedly calibrated to keep a certain percentage of Model S, 3, X, Y, etc.--and if the ratio falls below that you can score a much higher price. So, it makes sense to try multiple times per month with them if you're not in hurry to sell.

2) They also allegedly own the bank that they use to finance vehicles, so they can further overpay on models that they want and this can be beneficial if you own one of those models.

3) They don't have any specific options like that to include FSD, cool or expired Tesla colors/features (like Obsidian Black Metallic, Pano Sunroof, etc.). That's one important point of our instant offer program--our EV dealers know Teslas and will pay more for those features.

Overall, Carvana may be a good option, but not without some notable caveats.
