Sensor above AP2 front cameras

What is this sensor used for? Asking because my headlights are always on now but I read that AP2 uses the camera for auto headlights so I'm wondering that that sensor is used for.

I've seen that only on Tesla manufactured after March, but I could be wrong. No idea what it is for.

I don't know but maybe they finally installed the rain sensor that is in all pre-refresh cars.

Nah. My car has this and it’s a late 2016.
